“Nursing comfort”… is that even a thing?
Well, I can tell you that it most definitely is! I have quite a big bust. In fact, I’d say it is an enormously uncomfortable 12F. Now, I have found something that makes feeding my baby incredibly comfortable and easy.
So far so good with Zac and Hugo. Zac is enjoying his new “big brother” role and smothers Hugo with love every day. He wants to help with nappy changes and bath time. He even asked if he could feed Hugo from his “woobies” (boobies.)
Recently, we teamed up with Anna from the @notsoperfectmum to answer your questions on breastfeeding and expressing. Below, Katie, our qualified Lactation Consultant and Midwife, answers 10 breastfeeding questions from mums!
What a privilege it was for Bobby (my youngest) and I to be invited to Medela’s Morning Tea at Pullman Melbourne on the Park.
After battling with silent reflux for the last few months and almost deciding to stop breastfeeding, we have turned a big corner. It seems as though the Bio Gaia probiotics and/or the dietary changes I made have helped.
It seems to be a common belief that when using a breast pump the higher you turn up the vacuum (suction) the more milk you will get out. Many mothers have told us how they turn on their pump and instantly press the + button until they get to the max level. But many of those mums have also told us how this causes pain to their nipples!
Recently, Medela surveyed mums on their experiences with breastfeeding in public. We asked what we, as a community, could do to better support breastfeeding mums.
It was a pleasure for Medela to host a selection of photographs from Suzie Blake’s famous “What Does Breastfeeding Look Like?” project, featuring beautiful and raw images of mum’s breastfeeding.
The project is world famous and has received viral online attention as well. We sat down with Suzie Blake to understand a little more about the project and what she hopes to achieve through this.
Ever since having my third baby, I’ve developed some serious body issues.
I’m not exactly sure what it was that I didn’t like about my body, but, I was determined to change it all. I felt sick when I looked in the mirror… and I’m fairly sure that’s not a healthy way of looking at yourself!
