Sophie is about 10 weeks old, so, Lisa and I sat down for a quick Skype chat. This is part 2 of our conversation. We hope that you find it useful as you continue on your own breastfeeding journey.
Sophie is coming up on 10 weeks old now. This milestone was a great opportunity for Lisa and I to get together for a quick Skype call. Here’s how our conversation went.
11 weeks in and I finally feel like the fog is clearing and we are starting to find our groove. I have now looked back over a short (whirlwind blur) 11 weeks and I’m feeling a sense of relief that Sophie is putting on weight and we are “on track.”
Two weeks have passed since Katie confirmed my suspicions as to why Sophie’s feeding had changed. Since then I have also been back at the pump, filling her up.
The workload has increased, but I don’t mind. Now, I have a contented bubba who sleeps easier!
Poor Lisa! Things seem to have taken a backwards step again since she reduced the top ups of expressed breast milk. Lisa describes Sophie as being windy, farty, burpy, unsettled and once again having frothy stools!
It was great to speak to Lisa in person for the first time in 2 weeks. Hearing her voice reassured me that she was doing OK. It’s hard not to think about or worry for your clients as their lactation consultant!
Following is a conversation between Medela Mum Lisa and our lactation consultant, Katie. This conversation took place about 27 days after the birth of Lisa’s daughter, Sophie.
